For successful online registration (i-Kfz), you generally need a valid eVB number from your insurance, the Registration Certificate Part II (vehicle registration document) with a security code to be uncovered (from year of manufacture 2015 onwards), and your ID card with activated online ID function (nPA).

i-Kfz stands for the internet-based vehicle registration of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. It can be used by all private individuals whose vehicles were registered after January 1, 2015, and who have an ID card with an activated online function.
